Student at UPR Assaulted by Campus Security

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – On April 12th, Ibrahim Gonzalez was beat by a campus security guard, allegedly Mr. Escobar, while being arrested at the occupation of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. Although it seems tension between campus security and the occupiers of the Faculties of the Social Sciences and the Humanities were already heated, the situation escalated as Gonzalez began documenting the campus security guards verbally harass students occupying the faculty of the Social Sciences. So far, two students have been arrested; mean while, the occupation of the Humanities continues as scheduled with music and other festivities.
