SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – On Thursday, June 3rd, at 2am students at the UPR Rio Piedras campus gathered together to reinforce their existing strike by barricading strategic weak points in their blockade of campus. As the students have been under constant threat of eviction and recent events involving members of the administration trying to get onto campus, they felt it necessary to block off points that could potentially be used to raid the campus.
Later that day, hundreds of students participated in blocking areas of downtown and handing out flyers to combat the expensive media campaign the administrators have been using to derail the strikers. More on the story at indymedia PR.
